LON'S at the Hermosa
In Arizona we are blessed with over 8 months of beautiful weather which makes "al fresco" dining a perfect choice on most occasions. LON'S has a beautiful patio, nestled in-between lush tropical and desert landscape. Perfect for a romantic evening, business meeting or wedding you'll find the artfully creative dishes prepared by Chef Michael Rusconi and his staff both pleasing to the eye and to the palate!

On Sundays the brunch menu at LON'S offers a fabulous "steak and eggs" entree of grilled beef tenderloin, poached eggs on spoon bread with green tomato marmalade, asparagus and annatto hollandaise. As well, there is the "original hacienda brunch" with entree choices like banana nut french toast, buckwheat & blueberry pancakes and three egg omelet with arizona shrimp for those wanting a more traditional breakfast alternative. On the weekends, the restaurant features a continental breakfast.

For lunch the seared sea scallops with jicama and roasted corn slaw is a nice choice as a starter. We also tried the grilled flatbread pizza with arizona shrimp, cilantro pepita pesto, roasted peppers and cotija. The salads are nicely proportioned with just a hint of dressing for a real fresh alternative! My favorites were the roasted chicken and strawberry salad with fresh mozzarella, prickly pear balsamic vinaigrette and toasted almonds and the pepper seared ahi tuna salad with organic field greens and mango avocado relish. Finally, don't fret sandwich and burger lovers because you'll also find a nice assortment of choices like the grilled portobello vegetarian reuben on focaccia and the black angus burger with goat cheese, caramelized onion, lettuce and tomato.

For a nice change, the dinner salads are a different variety than on the lunch menu. Here you can feast your eyes on the beautiful goat cheese and arugula salad with heirloom beets and spring strawberries, or the alaskan dungeness crab salad with avocado and spicy gazpacho gel←e. Being a lover of fois gras, LON'S pan-seared la belle farms foie gras and braised duck with cherry & red beet compote on spicy corn waffle swiftly connected as a perfect choice to battle against the cast iron roasted georges bank scallops with fennel, fris←e and fire roasted tomato vinaigrette. The outcome...both were ordered because they just sounded way too good to be true!

For dinner entrees we chose the grilled filet of salmon with blackberry shellac and the grilled beef tenderloin with white truffle scented mac'n'cheese. Both paired nicely with LON'S extensive wine menu! Make sure to save room for dessert, because Chef Michael will have some tasty treats available that you won't want to miss!

LON'S is extremely busy during the winter season, so make sure to call for reservations!

I hope you enjoy!
